The couplers are used to couple two adjacent coaches or a coach to alocomotive. When connected to the coupler of the next coach, the couplerallows the coaches to move, accommodate track curvature and buffer height changes while all the time remaining in coupled condition.

The AAR ‘H’ type coupler head is provided with aligning wings, located at either side of the coupler head. The wings are interlocked when coupled with the adjacent coupler. Interlocking prevents the vertical movement of the couplers with respect to each other. This feature ensures the ANTI CLIMBING of the coaches on each other in case of an accident.

AAR-H Couplers for Passenger Coaches

CORE SUN POWER ENGINEERING PVT. LTD. AAR-H type coupler has been developed in-house for passenger coach application. It is a high tensile tight lock centre buffer coupler.

Semi Permanent Couplers

Provide safe and permanent connection of multiple units. Couplability of coupler halves is ensured by Adjustable Cup Sleeves.

Balanced Draft Gear for AAR-H Coupler

The Balanced Draft Gear is an enhanced design which consists of 2 separate packs of elastomeric pads for buff and draw modes and aims to provide jerk free and smooth train operations.
The Balanced Draft gear arrangement can absorb energy of 35 kJ (minimum) under dynamic force application of 1600 kN (maximum force generated during the train dynamics). The elastomeric pads arrangement offers high damping factor, greater than 60% which helps smooth & vibration free movement of trains at high speeds.




Standard Draft Gear for AAR-H Coupler


Draw gear arrangement serves to cushion the tensile and compressive loads produced under train operation and absorbs the energy of 45kJ (minimum) which is generated during the train dynamics. This standard draft gear consists of a pack of highly non-linear elastomeric pads to absorb energy generated in longitudinal train dynamics.
Designed for high damping factor, greater than 60% makes train operation smooth in acceleration & deceleration and longitudinal train dynamics.
Draft gear with customer’s specification can be designed and supplied.
